How Idaho taxes your paycheck
Idaho's revised 2026 percentage table applies a 5.3% rate to wages above a payroll-period threshold. The threshold differs for married employees and the single/head-of-household group.
The Tax Commission's July 2026 update removes the expired Idaho Child Tax Credit from withholding. The calculator therefore does not apply a child-credit allowance even though some table labels still refer to it.
Schedule effective 2026-07-23. Annual totals project this schedule over a full year; they do not reconstruct earlier 2026 checks.
| Item | 2026 rule |

Common paycheck questions
Can I still subtract an Idaho child-credit allowance?
The Tax Commission states that the Idaho Child Tax Credit has sunset and revised the 2026 tables accordingly. This calculation applies no child-credit allowance.
Does head-of-household status use a larger Idaho withholding threshold?
No. The published percentage table groups heads of household with single employees.
How accurate is this Idaho paycheck calculator?
It estimates regular wages using official 2026 withholding rules and the assumptions shown. Bonuses, multiple jobs, credits, employer plans and year-to-date pay can change actual checks. Compare the result with your pay stub and withholding certificates.
