How Kentucky taxes your paycheck

Kentucky's 2026 payroll withholding rate is 3.5%. Its employer formula first subtracts a $3,360 annual standard deduction, then applies that rate to the remaining wages.

Kentucky does not use separate payroll brackets for single, married or head-of-household employees. Local occupational taxes are separate and may depend on the city, county, worksite and applicable wage limits.
